It’s said that words have meaning because we have become accustomed how they are used by others and not because of a connection between the word and the object.
It’s the definition from the society which gives language its meaning.

As funny as it is, Eminem will help us to understand, how that can be transported in real life.

Eminem was involved in many controversies over lyrics which have been perceived as being homophobic; an Australian politician attempted to ban entry for Eminem because of these lyrics.

Eminems answer to the critisism.

“I’m not gay bashing. People  just don’t understand where I come from. “Faggot” to me doesn’t necessarily mean gay people. “Faggot” to me just means… taking away your manhood. You’re a sissy. You’re a coward. Just like you might sit around in your living room and say, “Dude, stop, you’re being a fag, dude.”.”

Context is always important. If I want that others understand me,  it’s up to me, to make sure that every word is understood as I meant it.
